Taylor Swift’s upcoming ‘The Eras Tour’ still left with 170,000 tickets for Ticketmaster to sell

Ticketmaster will be selling the 170,000 tickets on the Ticketstoday platform for Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour after the general sale was canceled due to “extraordinarily high demand”.

Fans who had originally signed up to Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan started receiving emails about a new sales window with a deadline of 23rd December to purchase. In the meantime, fans will be invited to select which tickets they’d like to purchase over the next week. While sales are limited at two tickets per person, a digital lottery will decide who is lucky to win. This came as a means to sell the remaining tickets on Ticketstoday because of the very confusing, disordered tickets rollout and whole-sale cancellation that happened a month ago. Thousands of fans reported lengthy wait times, website outages and hyper-inflated prices on resale sites including Ticketmaster’s own, for Taylor Swift “The Eras Tour”. Swift shared a message to her fans via her Instagram Story, explaining how she felt following the ticketing confusion:

“Well. It goes without saying that I’m extremely protective of my fans. We’ve been doing this for decades together and over the years, I’ve brought so many elements of my career in house.

I’ve done this SPECIFICALLY to improve the quality of my fans’ experience by doing it myself with my team who care as much about my fans as I do,” she wrote.

“It’s really difficult for me to trust an outside entity with these relationships and loyalties, and excruciating for me to just watch mistakes happen with no recourse.”

Swift refused to “make excuses” for Ticketmaster and claiming that she and her team “asked them, multiple times, if they could handle this kind of demand” and they were ” assured they could”. According to sources Ticketmaster was sued by over two dozen Swift fans for the previous issue-filled sell out.

Despite the ‘acquiring seats’ roller coaster that this tour is experiencing, this is another chance to see Swift performing in the upcoming stadium run next year which starts in Glendale, Arizona on March.
